Luxurious church tower full of art

This artistic room in the tower of a church more than 700 years old is without doubt one of the most special places to stay in the Netherlands. In the towers of the oldest church in Arnhem a number of beautiful, exclusive hotel rooms have been realized with stylish city themes. The building, the location in the center and the luxury of the room make this an unforgettable overnight stay.

The history of the church goes all the way back to the year 1315. Over the years, the church has had various functions. At the time of the iconoclasm, for example, the church served as a prison and an armory. King Louis Napoleon, King of the Netherlands from 1806 to 1810, returned the church to the Catholics. After the church was desecrated in 2013, hotel rooms were realized in the 2 towers. The main hall of the church is now used as an exhibition space.

The interior of this residence is an ode to Park Sonsbeek and the international art exhibition that takes place there every four years. The interior was created in collaboration with the Kröller-Müller Museum in the De Hoge Veluwe park. In 1955, the artist Gerrit Rietveld became word famous during the 3rd edition of the exhibition by surprising the international art and construction world with his pavilion. Today, his creation adorns the museum's beautiful gardens, where it houses sculptures. In this room you will not only find beautiful photo wallpaper depicting Sonsbeek Park and Rietveld's pavilion, but also furniture and a lamp that were created by him.

The accommodation is a loft with a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with shower, double sink and toilet. You can also use a fully equipped kitchen with appliances, a dining area with a smart TV, coffee and tea making facilities, heating, air conditioning and free wifi.

It is possible to book breakfast. This costs €15,00 p.p. You can park on private property directly in front of the church for €10,- per car per night.

The church is perfectly located for anyone who wants to spend a weekend in Arnhem and surroundings. From the church you can walk straight into the center of Arnhem. Here you can go shopping or enjoy a drink on a terrace. There is also a lot to do in the Arnhem area. Take a visit to Burgers' Zoo, the Dutch Open Air Museum or the Hoge Veluwe National Park. Don't forget to take a walk through Sonsbeek Park!
